As many of you know, I love shoes! I have a bit of an obsession.  Lately, I seem to have been filling that obsession with buying shoes for my daughter!  My husband doesn’t seem to care when I buy her shoes, it is a different story when I buy them for myself!

Anyways, now that I have openly admitted to my shoe obsession, you could image how excited I was to be contacted to review a book about SHOES!

Shoe Garden and Other Shoe Stories: The Shoe Banter Collection by sisters Brenda Finne and Joyce Fishman is a collection of four rhyming short stories that celebrate how shoes make us feel.  Originally created for their younger sister, Ivy and her love for shoes, these illustrated children’s books look at “the soles within our soles - or, our shoes and the exciting places they can take us.”

The four stories, Shoe Garden, Shoe Dreams, When Shoes Can Fly, and Butterfly Shoes are aimed to spark imagination in children and celebrate the personality expressed by our shoes.  The four stories show confidence, zaniness, athleticism and creativity!  The pages of the book are colourfully illustrated by Joyce Finne and all stories written by Brenda Finne.  The Shoe Banter collection is perfect for kid and adult shoe lovers alike.

My personal favourite is the Shoe Garden. Here is a little exert:
