The weather here in Toronto has been crazy! From -30 degrees, snow storms, and ice storms to last weekends temperature of +6 degrees and rain all within a two week period! It's no wonder my family is sick with a cough and cold!
So what's the solution to these weather ups and downs? Well, cosy sweaters of course! Sweaters definitely don't have be frumpy! There are so many stylish, comfortable and most importantly in a polar vortex, warm sweaters to choose from.
Here are two of my favourite sweaters I picked up while on a weekend trip to Denmark: A Vanessa Bruno Athé Alpaca Knit and Monki’s Isa knitted top.
Funny enough they look very similar, but I opted for different colours! Well actually, at the time I didn't know the Monki sweater came in a Forest Green, but it's a good lesson when researching High vs. Low fashion.
Alpaca Mix Chunky Knitted Long Sweater in Bottle Green. This soft ribbed knit sweater is made with a blend of Alpaca and Merino Wool. The sweater has a contemporary relaxed fit with ribbed knit cuffs, hem and neckline. The Alpaca Mix Chunky sweater looks great with skinny jeans and flats or riding boots. Dress the sweater up with black pants and heels!
The Isa knitted top from Swedish brand, Monki is a mix of Acrylic and Wool. The sweater has a micro-quilted texture and also has ribbed knit cuffs, hem and neckline. The fit is relaxed but has a shorter hemline then Bruno’s knit sweater. I purchased the top in Black Magic, but later found out it also came in Forest! Again, you can pair the knit with denim or even a skirt!
