UpperCanada Mall is the premier shopping mall in Newmarket and one of my favorite malls in the GTA. Upper Canada Mall has a great selection of stores that will appeal to many. Some of my favorite stores include Zara, Simon Chang, and Radiant Fine Jewelers. Upper Canada Mall is very inviting and when it is busy the mall still feels spacious and comfortable. Even my husband who hates shopping prefers UCM to other malls. The mall also has a great food court with many options.
The mall is also great for families! They have wonderful family washrooms that actually work for families. The mall offers stroller rentals with a portion of the profits going towards the York Regional Police Community SafetyVillage. And did you know that the mall has a play park? It is Ontario’s first soft foam play park and conveniently located near Toys R’ Us and best of all, it’s FREE!
I love visiting Upper Canada Mall during the holiday season because of the wonderful decorations and the great Santa display and of course the real looking Santa Claus! I hate when Santa’s don’t have real beards! Along with the real deal Santa the set up is great and Christmas neutral! Does that make any sense? Christmas neutral to me are Christmas colors without going overly crazy or jazzy! The Upper Canada Mall display is White, Red and Silver. Perfect with any outfit!
This year we received the Santa Fast Pass. The Santa Fast Pass allows you to bypass the regular line and hop into the VIP entrance line. You also purchase your pass and package online and you can select the visit date. Every package also comes with a Shutterfly gift card.
Once we got to Upper Canada Mall’s Santa Display, we went right to the VIP entrance. We waited about 2 minutes until it was our turn, which is a lifesaver with a young child. Santa was very friendly and talkative with Mia. Mia on the other hand was very shy, but she did sit with him. She refused to smile and the photographer tried many different things to make her smile, we were able to get a smirk out of her. The photographer took about 4 photos and we were able to choose which one we liked to be printed. Once we chose our photo we walked to the counter were our photos were being printed. A minute later we had all our photos from our package, a CD with our photo and our Shutterfly gift card. The Mr. and I were pretty impressed and happy about the whole process. The only thing I would have changed is the amount of photos on the CD. We received a digital copy of the photo we choose but as mentioned the photographer took at least 4 photos. I would have liked to get all the photos on the CD.
All in all my shopping trip and Mia’s yearly Santa photo was a success.
Families can meet Santa and his elves this holiday season at Upper Canada Mall’s Santa Display and take photos with the jolly man everyday from November 12 until December 24.
